Project Scope: DRONAH is a Knowledge Partner in the Smart City Plan submitted by Bhubaneshwar, which has been ranked No. 1 in the list of smart cities. Part of the project are various proposals for conserving heritage and promoting sustainable tourism, in the heritage district of Bhubaneshwar. These include: 1. Conceptual plan for Ekamra Kshetra Heritage Area including mobility, heritage guidelines, tourism development proposals. 2. Signage Guidelines for Ekamra Kshetra Heritage Area
Client: Bhubaneshwar Development Authority and IBI
Project Brief: Ekamra Kshetra is a living heritage city- the old town of Bhubaneshwar with the highest concentration of temples, sacred water bodies, procession routes and traditional communities of priests and diverse cultural activities and practices. Area of the district is approx. 600 acres The vision for the district is to revitalize the heritage city and promote tourism by encouraging an aesthetically sound, accessible, smart and sustainable environment. This is being done through various proposals for the Bhubaneshwar Development Authority in planning and design, tourism promotion and education as well as advise on heritage management and inventorying.
